There were many things happening at MMA Institute on Saturday, November 22nd. Third degree Gracie Barra black belt, Kazeka Muniz offered a seminar covering techniques in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, No-Gi grappling, and MMA takedowns. Fight Team Training brought MMA Institute fight teams in from Winchester, Harrisonburg, and Richmond and also welcomed teams cross training from other academies. But of all the learning, training, drilling, and sparring, the most note worthy event was certainly when Kazeka Muniz and Rick McCoy promoted Jake Young to be a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt. After training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 12 years, Jake certainly put the time in and dedication to achieve the skill level required to receive such an honor. Congratulations, Jake! All MMA Institute students are fortunate to have you as a team member and an instructor. |
